The next ball is on Saturday 2nd December 2023.

The dance programme is well established, with a range of jigs, reels and strathspeys. Each year we change one or two dances to introduce new ones.

The dancing happens in the magnificent ballroom of Blair Castle.

At 8:00pm the guests gather in the Castle corridor, and wait to be piped into the magnificent hall for the Grand March and the first Eightsome Reel. This is danced to the sound of the Atholl pipers: a very special start to a wonderful evening.

There are usually two sittings for dinner served in the traditional dining room.

The dancing continues (with a break for the charity raffle) until 1:30am.

There are two dinner sittings and when booking tickets for the Ball, a choice can be made as to which sitting you would prefer to join but these are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The first sitting starts at 6:45pm and means that you will be finished before the dancing begins at 8pm.

The second sitting starts at about 21:45pm, so you will miss some of the dances in the middle of the Dance Programme.

The two course dinner is taken in the Castle dining room.

The food will be provided by Ballintaggart Feasts using fresh local ingredients with a vegetarian option.

This year the charity is ‘Tayside Mountain Rescue’.

Each year we support a local charity through the raffle and donations. We are grateful to the local artists and business who contribute generously to our raffle.
